Hi Mary,
I feel your frustration since I never found my Lehman (German) ancesters ship arrival info either. The National Archives has a service where they supposedly look up and send you naturalization records for $25.00. You can access it from their website. I've never tried. Ancestry.com is slowly loading some limited scanned versions of naturalization records from the National Archives. I found my great-grandfather final naturalization record. It says Nothing other than his name and address - unbeleivable. I know it's him from the address. National Archives also are supposed to have all ship arrivals on microfilm. You can order the microfilm to be delivered to a local Family History Center (LDS) in your area. Many people Have done this but I haven't tried it yet. I'm trying to get his declaration of intentions and hoping it may have more info. I'll search ancestry for Charles Krann in case he used that name. And I'll keep looking for you. By the way with regard to the Prussia / Russia thing - if family history says he's from Prussia then in all likelihood the civil servant thought he said Russia. That kind of mistake is more common then you might think. Good Luck, Mary
