Thomas immigration, ship etc
In the 1900 census, there was a Thomas family (parents and 2 children) living in ward 7 Suffolk Co, in MA(I believe that would be some part of Boston, but don't know which)
They are living with the Gardner family (John H, and his wife Catherine, and their two sons, Daniel, and Edward
While the Thomas's are listed as lodgers, on the census, I wonder if there is a fmily connection here.
James Thomas July 1854 age 50 married 15 years, born in Ireland. parents born in Ireland. Immigrated in 1875.
So did he immigrate alone, or did his parents, or someone else (or other people) immigrate with him, and if so who, and relationship to James.Parents names, dob, etc, as
well as any sibblings(even those that may have stayed in Ireland).Where in Ireland were they from.
Anne Thomas(what was her maiden name, who were her parents, sibblings etc) age 35, married 15 years. . She apparently was born in Ireland too, and immigrated in 1880.Did she immigrate alone, or with others(who?)
Their two children were both born in MA, and they were
Nellie born March 1890, and James E born in Sept 1892.
James and Anne had 2 other children that died. Anyway of learning who they were and when they were born, died etc.
I would love to learn the name of the ships that James and Anne came from Ireland on, and the dates.Did they come directly to Boston, or elsewhere.
Catherine (Ryan) Gardner was born in Ireland too,in 1862 she immigrated in 1881 and was naturalized. She married John Gardner from Nova Scotia and had 7 children, but only the two mention (Dan and Ed) lived.I'd like to learn who her parents and sibblings were? Did they come to USA as well. Who traveled with Catherine when she came, and what ship was she on.??
Thank you, and I am sorry for being so long winded here.
Just had a thought, hmmm! wonder could Catherine and Anne be sisters????
