Naturalization--across state lines
I am trying to locate naturalization records for John Dworski. On the 1910 and 1920 census, it says he arrived in 1905 and was an alien. On the 1930 census, it says he was naturalized.
1907--Married in West Newton, PA
1910 Census--Rostraver Twp, Westmoreland County, PA
1912--Birth of daughter in Ohio
1920 Census--Richland Township, Belmont County, OH
1926--Birth of last child in Ohio
1930 Census--Detroit, Wayne County, MI
I know they were in Ohio from at least 1912-1926 and PA from 1905-1910/1911.
I'm curious if you had to be naturalized in the state in which you lived. When they lived in Ohio, they were closer to PIttsburgh, than to Columbus or Cleveland, OH.
I already checked with NARA for naturalization in Detroit and they didn't have anything. Not sure if I should ask for one in Pittsburgh, Columbus, or Ohio.
Thanks,
Marianne
