Thank you. My grandfather's name was John as was his father. His dad was born in Austria. They were Hungarian/Bohemian. Even in finding the Chabin and Bandzuch (my dad has a paper from my grandfather's sister with the spelling of the name)on the Jewish Gen web pages...I cannot read German. Since they ended up in the Philadelphia area, I believe that is what my dad was told they came through this port. Definitely not Ellis Island. The Czech Republic is close to Hungary as is Yugoslavia. My dad has said that they were connected somehow from there,Yugoslavia, from what he was told. Nothing was said about the Byzantine Catholics.I had searched soem Ellis records and did not find anything. My other delima is that all my files are on Brother's Keeper but I was given some BAD(incorrect) data from an LDS site and so have a big mess to resolve.
