Helen - just now (15 Jan 2006) I saw your message and am interested, as my 3rd ggfather was Joseph Imlay, b abt 1765 in Monmouth Co., NJ, according to my records. I have the will of James Lippincott (early 1800's, maybe 1805)which mentions his daughter Elizabeth "wife of Joseph Imlay." My Joseph is called "Capt." leading me to believe he was in the RW. He & Elizabeth had a daughter Susan, youngest of 5 children: Ann, George, Catherine, Peter, & Susan. Susan Imlay md Abram WEAVER 1824 in OH. I don't have correct birth dates of Joseph's children except for Susan who was born 11 Jun 1807 in NJ.

Do your records show any of this family? I don't have the marriages of the other children. Am trying to prove the parentage of Joseph Imlay, and follow his line back, if possible. Are you of Imlay descent? Maybe we're cousins!

Many thanks for any info you can reveal on my ancestors. The data I have came from my mother & grandmother, who were very dedicated to their heritage.

Hopefully yours,
Susan Dannreuther
