Hello Lois,
I don't know if this will help you but my great grandmother was Elizabeth Imhoff born in Berlin, Somerset County, PA on 3/11/1852. She must be a relative or even a sister of your Effie Imhoff. It was such (and still is) a small tight knit area there. I have other info farther back, so please contact me. My grandfather Robert May and my great grandfather James May (Elizabeth Imhoff's husband) were from Somerset County too and they all lived there all of their lives. I have a great Aunt Ethel May who lived on Beachly Street from whom I got all this info year's ago.
