Some individuals are thinking that a Denton Imes found in Chowan co., North Carolina in an early census could be the father of Peter Imes. This Denton Imes does not appear in any later census which could indicate that he left the area and died before the next census. [1790-1800]. If this is true, then I think that he was a son of John Iiams whose sons migrated to North Carolina. John & Ariana Iiams had several of children but they are not documented. John left a will but did not list any children. A man by the name of Wooten was the administrator but he died before the will was probated and then Wooten's son took over the records and I don't think that anything was ever finalized.

Peter Imes' spouse was Jemima 'Monima' Bagley. After Peter's death, she married two more times.
