America's First Families

Something to share: I nominated William Ijams/Iiams [c1640-1703] to the roll of Honor for America's First Families. I did this on behalf of my husband who is the 10th great-grandson of the above. The individual had to be in this country before 1675 which William Ijams/Iiams was. The application was accepted and my husband received a beautiful 8-1/2" x 11" certificate that we are going to have framed. Using several written books as sources for the first couple of generations and then obtaining birth, death, marriage, obituaries and cemetery records for the later generations, I was able to document his lineage. Just wanted to share this with all of you.
