Mary A. HARRIS was born in Preble County, Ohio, 24 February 1839 and died 22 July 1906 about 3 p.m. She was one of ten children, only three of whom survive- Mrs. Martha IMEL, Wm. HARRIS of this county, and Delilah HARRIS, with whom she had resided for the past twenty years. The father died in 1851 and the mother in 1885. Miss HARRIS united with the M.E. church at Brown chapel in 1863 and was a faithful worker in the church and Sunday school until failing health compelled her to relinquish it. She taught her class of young men for the last time, 27 August 1905. The funeral occurred at the home Tuesday at 10 o’clock, services being conducted by Rev. Okell HALL, after which the remains were laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
