I read your message with interest as my late father James Malcolm Ilsley was born in Anston in 1927. His father also James was born around 1900 and died in the mid 1950's. I recall my father saying that his father was one of the younger children of the family. On that assumption I am wondering whether your grandmother was my grandfather's niece.

As my father was an only child and both his parents died before I or my brother or sister were born and my parents left the UK when I was 3yrs old I am keen to find out what I can about any relatives still in Anston etc.

I have a copy of a pamphlet on the history of Anston in with an E Ilsley is shown in a photograph of women during the second world war. Could this be your grandmother?

The pamphlet was send to me by father's cousin Malcolm Bacon (nephew of grandmother).

If you are able to provide any information on your grandmother siblings and those of her father's it greatly appreciated.

I look forward to your reply.

Regards

Ian Ilsley
