ILSLEY World War 1 Deaths
Posted by: Catherine ILSLEY Date: March 18, 2002 at 05:13:21

I would like to know if anybody has any information on, or beleive they are related to:

John George ILSLEY, a private in the 1st Bn., Royal Scots Fusiliers and died on 19th Novemebr 1914, aged 29 a "native of reading".

or

Thomas ILSLEY, a rifleman in the 17th Bn., King's Royal Rifle Corps and died on 31st July 1917, aged 38. While he would have to be "underestimating" his age by upto 12 years I think he could be my great-grandfather. I understand it was common to lie about age during the Great War, what with the whole white feather thing. I also believe my great-grandfather to have lied about his age at marriage.
