Family Research

I live in London and I am currently in the process of researching my family tree, yet I have "hit a brick wall" regarding my father's side of the family. Owing to the fact that my grandfather died when my father was just 10 years old, I have been unable to gather any accurate information beyond that of my grandfather's name. His name was Fred (and NOT Frederick, I believe) Illingworth, and he was born in Yorkshire (Bradford, I think). He married Beatrice Evans - who was born in Devon on the 17th February, year unknown - on or before 1919. It would only be AFTER this date if my aunt Trudi (A.K.A Elsie) was born out of wedlock! My grandfather died in approximately 1943.
If there's anyone out there who can help me overcome this genealogical "brick wall", I would be immensely grateful.
