Thanks for your note. The Illig family I am researching came from Alsace-Lorraine, France and pretty much settled in Jamestown, NY. My great grandparents were Jean aka John, Johannes Illig and Elisabeth Klaufs of Buffalo NY, they had 8 children, Elisabeth, Peter, Mary, George, Joseph, Josephine, Louis and Emma and they all seemed to have stayed in the NY area. However, it is still very possible that there is some relation to your friends family from Ohio.
