Joan, thank you for your posting. No, I didn't have any of this information.
As my first Iley person was born @ 1849 in NC, I am guessing that there must have been a NC connection with an Iley family (possibly his Mother's maiden name). Guess I'll focus on a Jones / Iley combination until I figure out something else.
My Asa Iley Jones was in AL by 1880, and then in DeSoto, Clarke Co., MS, a few years later, where he died in 1903.
