Do I understand correctly that your Jeremiah is NOT related to Henry ILES? I'd like to invite you to join some of your (potential) cousins who are tracing the Henry line and have a fair amount of support data online. Another ILES line (John Iles and wife Susanna who bought land in Halifax Co., NC in 1763) also has some researchers on this site. If you're interested let me know and I'll forward an invitation from the ILES web page.

Also, you mentioned the story that Henry was a Hessian soldier brought here to fight for the English. Do you have a source for that information? I've seen elsewhere that the "Va-NC Piedmont Gen. Society in Danville" has this information, but that's the extent of detail I had. I'm hoping someone could give a reference (i.e., date, page, publisher, etc.) so that I can read the original material.
