I have a Jackson Iler listed in my file, who fought in the Civil War as a member of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry, 57th Regiment, Company A. He was killed in the battle of Kenesaw Mountain, Georgia on June 27, 1864. He left his wife, Matilda Pennell (1838 - May 25, 1865) and 3 children, Sophronia (b. April 09, 1859, d. May 20, 1906in Rising Sun, Ohio, m. Joseph Kline), Ermina E. (b. June 26, 1861, married ? Baker), and Martha D. (b. January 05, 1864, married ? Compton).

My wife's 2nd great-grandfather, David Iler, was Jackson's brother. For more information on this family, go see my website at http://www.geocities.com/wolfstory4/famtree/index.htm.
