Can anyone please offer advice.I am in the UK and have an ancestor in my tree who on our UK census (1881, 1891, 1901) states that he was born c 1874 in Braidwood Will Co. He is the only child of the family to state he was born abroad all the others being born here. As his parents are natives of the uk and there is nothing to suggest they ever left the uk even for a short while, can anyone suggest how I might find a birth record which may prove one way or the other that he was born in braidwood and or if the people he lived with here were perhaps not his birth parents. Any advice gratefully received.
