Hi Matt, Once again you have helped me in my search for Lewis Benjamin Manley, b. Dec, 29, 1878.I believe we are of the same thinking and simple logic indicates that Lewis Benjamin Manley and Louis B. Jones shown in the 1900 Carmi census with his mother, are one and the same people! As to an adoption or just plain assimilation and "taking the family surname," I'm not sure. But the dates jive.Remember that Lewis Benjamin Manley was just over three years old when his mother married Charles Wesley Jones in April, 1882.And now we see, that besides your great-grandmother S. Effie (Jones) Jordan, he had half sisters on the Jones side as well as half siblings on the Manley side. What became of them?I do have quite a bit on Jason Manley's first family, where one of his daughters, Maria C. (Manley) Vincent (1855-1936) was one of my great-great grandmothers.I have a family portrait of Maria, James Vincent and their children from around 1900.Now the next mystery is what became of Louis B. Jones and his other half sisters.Looks like the trail is "hot." Thanks for keeping me posted and let me know if you find anything new.Gary
