Mary, here is some info I found on the Internet. Apparently your Mary was born circa 1826-1831 in Ill. or Va. (she said both on censis'). I estimate she married Nathaniel VanWinkle circa 1848 and they had 2 children: John (born 1849) and another son (b. 1852). I dont know what happened to Nathaniel, but on 6/16/1854 she married Marion Stanley and they had 1 child, your Louisa, born 1855. I dont know what happened to Marion, but on 8/20/1857 she married Adam Goodwin. and they probably had 2 more children: a daughter (name??, b. 1858) and son Isaac (b.1864), I dont know when Adam died or why he wasnot listed with Mary on the 1860 census of White Co.
Regarding who were the parents of Mary, that is confusing. Keep in mind that on census' Mary indicated she was born during the period circa 1826-1831. On the Internet, other researchers say her parents were John Ottinger and Hester Sassaman and Mary was born 1814. Likewise these researchers say John Ottinger died 1816, which was several years before your Mary said she was born (ca 1826-1831). Either the other researchers have your Mary mixed up with someone else or Mary was a lot older than she indicated. Since she died in 1914, she was a very old lady. The other researchers said their Mary married Nathaniel VanWinkle. Are you now confused? I am not related. Good Luck. Bob Eddings at firstname.lastname@example.org .
