I am trying to put together missing pieces to the puzzle. I am a descendent of Francis Isabell Short from White County. She was a daughter to Laura Jane Blackford, whose parents were Francis M. and Nancy Blackford of White County also. Laura was married several times, once to a Mobley,Dixon, __?__ Short??, then after moving to Jackson County, AR, she married a Charles Franklin Kinney. In the 1900 Jackson County, AR census, Isabell Short, age 13 is listed as'married' and living in the house with Laura J. (her mother),stepfather and grandfather, Frances M. Blackford,(widowed) Where is Isabell's husband? I have n't seen any proof that Laura J. was ever married to a 'Short', so evidently, Isabelle was married as 'Short'. Laura's siblings were Fannie, Hannah, Julia and Mary. Some of them could have stayed in or around White County, IL.
