Anita...this may be a long shot, but sometimes long shots are what works.
I have family from White Cty (Carmi), IL, as well as Muhlenberg Cty, KY. My gr'pa Jesse B. HAYES was b. in Carmi in 1880...eventually settled in Spencer Cty, IN. After McLean Cty was spun off from Muhlenberg Cty, Jesse and family moved to Calhoun and Rumsey, KY.
However, while still in So. IN, they got hooked up with the MOOREs, FORTUNEs, POLKs, BAKERs and a few more. I do have MOOREs in my blood line. Some are buried in So. IN and some are buried in McLean Cty, KY, and who know where else?
Is there any chance that any of the above mentioned names would be running thru your blood?
I also have a gr'pa who was b. in Muhlenberg Cty...George SUMMERS. He and his family eventually moved into So. IL, somewhere between Carmi and Cairo, but did eventually stay in Cairo where he died.
Hope this hits you.
Craig
