Clara, I just read your inquiry. I am trying to research the Tucker family in White County,Ill. My GGGF was Henry H. Tucker who married, at Carmi,Ill. an Abiel Malinda Parkhurst, who came there from Carthage, Smith County, Tenn. on 18 Dec 1827. I have been unable to identify who his parents and siblings were, although there were other Tucker names in the same vicinity. They named their 1st son Jonathan H., I think after her father, and the 2nd son James Portlock Tucker. Other children of theirs were Nancy Jane, Joseph Albert, Benjamin Franklin and, Jessee. They moved to Effingham, Ill. in late 1820's and early 1830's. In 1840 my GGGM Abiel died and he then remarried a Sarah Ward. They named their 2 girls Mary Malinda and Martha Lucinda Tucker. It is known other Tucker names in White County in the mid 1820's to 1830's included the following: James Tucker, Lucinda Tucker that married a James Evans, in 1827; Susan Tucker married a Daniel Tucker,in 1836; Sally Tucker married to a Marcus Codd, 1823 and a William Tucker on the 1830 census. I hope this message reaches you and anyone else that might be able to help me discover who my grandparents were and others I might be related to. I would appreciate it so much. Joan- Kansas
