Thomas McDonald Poss. Border @ 1891

I am looking for information anyone may have on Thomas McDonald (my g-grandfather). He came from County Wexford, Ireland and lived in School, Illinois for awhile in White County. It is here that he filed his Intention papers. I have his paperwork Declaration papers, but when I saw "School, Illinois" it threw me. He must have boarded with a sponsor -- possibly friend or family (McDonald or Dean families). Any information anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.
