Mt. Carmel REGISTER, Mt. Carmel, IL 1907:
Catherine (Weinbach) Rosignol
--born 10 October 1825 Hesse Darmstadt
--died 28 May 1907 Mt. Carmel home of Samuel R. Putnam 81y
--to USA age 9 with parents
--the family lived on the (later Metz) farm 1/2 mile W of Mt. Carmel
--m. age 17 Philip Rosignol who d. 1873
--m. Adam Stein 2 years later; he died 1895
--last surviving member of her family
--burial at Rose Hill Cemetery
--newspaper notices used both surnames, Rosignol and Stein.

1850 US Census, Wabash County, IL #158-163:
Philip Rosegnol, 34, Germany, brewer
Catharine Rosegnol, 25, Germany
Aaron Rosegnol, 27, Germany
Mary E. Wisenburger, 5, IL.

A family tradition is that Catherine and Philip Rosignol had no children but reared or helped to rear several:
--Agatha Weinbach 1854-1940, daughter of Frederick and Margaret who died 1864 and 1856, respectively, and who married Samuel R. Putnam in 1878 and had a son Karl F.;
--Clara Weinbach, sister of Agatha, married a Corie;
--Mary who married Bowman, lived Hammond, IN 1907;
--Mary who married Ingersol and died by 1907.
One of the Marys was a Wisenberger / Weisenberger.
