Johann Adam Stein (1778-1839) married Clara Margaretha Hammer, daughter of Johann Diederich and Anna Catharina (Kayser) Hammer. Lived at Westhofen bei Worms, Rhine Hessen, Germany. Their children:
•Matheis 1804-1872, m Katharina Sophia Franziska Beilstein;
•Karl Leopold 1805-1859, m Elisabeth Weinbach;
•Adam 1808-1812;
•Philipp 1811-?, to USA, m. Anna Margarethe Weinbach 1835;
•Jacob 1814;
•Katharina Elisabeth 1816-1885, m. Christian Weinbach, lived Westhofen;
•Adam 1819-1895, to Wabash County, IL USA, m. Mary E. Schafer;
•Jakob 1821-1901, to Wabash County, IL USA c. 1835-38, m. Maria Juliana Groff 1851.

Philipp, Adam 1819-1895, and Jacob 1821-1901 came to the USA via New Orleans. Philipp died in Louisiana. Adam and Jacob settled in Wabash County, IL at Mt. Carmel.
