Hi Ruby,
Jacob Snider, born 1817 in Il. is listed in the 1860 census, dunklin co. Mo. and all his children are still at home. His first wife died in 1859 and he remarried in Aug. 1860 and had several more children. I think the other Snider's in the 1860 census belong to John. There was a Snider from virginia who married a Hunsacker and they moved to Union co. in 1809. Another Hunsacker married a Snider from Pa. I think and also moved to Union co. about the same time. I have not tried to research these two Snider females yet. Jacob Snider Sr. was from Rowan Co. N.C. His sons George and William died in 1847 & 1848 in Union co Il. Jonathan died in 1964 in Mo. I think maybe in Stoddard CO. If these two family's are connected I think it goes back beyond 1800. I have tried to make a connection but have not found any fact's to support the theory yet. I think if there is a connection it will go back to Jacob Snider, born in 1748. I only have two children for him and they both married into the Hedrick family.
Jay
