When did your Loewe's emigrate and from where in Germany did they come?
My 2nd grandparents -- whom my grandmother always referred to as Sophia Low & Frederick Zorn and Gram's brother's descendants called Sophia Law & Frederick Sorn -- came from Mecklenburg-Schwerin in the late 1850s. Although Sophia ended up in Orangeville, Oneco Twp., Stephenson County, with her second husband, Valentine Hans, I've found paper tracks for her/their children on both sides of the state line.
