Turrentine, James Mrs. [nee Mary Ann Gill] - The obituary for Mrs. Mary Ann Turrentine stated that she has died Sept. 5 [1954].Burial was in Windsor cemetery.She was born December 17, 1861 in Richland township.She was the daughter of William and Mary Ann Kimball Gill.On October 29, 1884 she was married to James Allen Turrentine.Six children were born to them, five preceded her in death.Her husband, James Allen Turrentine, died April 22, 1936.She leaves her son, Earl of Mattoon, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She placed her membership with the Windsor Christian Church in August 1911.[extracted info] Windsor Gazette - 9 Sep 1954
Turrentine, Ward - Ward Turrentine passed away Saturday afternoon, July 18, at the state hospital at Jacksonville, after only a few days’ illness brought on by being overcome by heat while at work a couple of weeks ago.Funeral services will be held at Windsor Christian church this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Rev. William Icenogle officiating.Interment will be in Windsor cemetery.He had been a member of the Christian church for several years.Ward, who was a son of Mr. and Mrs. James A. Turrentine of Windsor, was born at Strasburg in 1887.He spent all his life in Eastern Shelby, and was a hardworking industrious citizen.On April 8, 1908, he married Miss Sillar Lucas, who survives him.He also leaves, besides his wife and parents, three children, Roy, Mary, and Velma; one brother, Earl; and one grandchildren and many other relatives.Windsor Gazette - 21 Jul 1931
