Know all men by these presents that we John McCarty, principal, and Hugh McCarty, securities, do hereby acknowledge our selves to owe and be indebted to the people of the State of Illinois in the sum of one hundred dollars to be levied of our goods and chattles, lands and tenements in case default be made in the follwing conditions to wit: That said John McCarty against whom an indictment is now pending in the circuit court of the County of Shelby and State of Illinois for the crime of firing the prairie and who is now in custody of the sheriff of said county upon a capious issued in pursuance of said indictment the said John McCarty shall be and appear before the said court to be holden at the court house in the town of Shelbyville Illinois on the first Monday in the month of March AD 1846 there and there to answer said indictment of the court aforesaid and abide by the judgment of the court there on and shall not depart said court without leave then this bond shall be void otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law.
