Oh, Barbara,thank you so much for looking up all that! Unfortunately, I already had most of that. It must have taken you a long time. It took me years :( I have Charles' Civil War papers. They don't have his pension papers, but I don't remember why. Charles' first son was named Thomas, so his father was also Thomas. Right? Was the Thomas you were referring to born in Ireland? If Charles' father did die when he was young, would he really know where he was born? I want to know where Charles was in 1880. He must have had some connection still to KY relatives because he named Polly Ann Reynolds to be informed of his death when he was in the Soldier's and Sailor's Home in 1897.
