David B. Watt and Lucy R. Devore were my great grandparents and I have quite a bit of information about them. You're correct in that David B. Watt's parents (my great, great grandparents) were David Watt and Jane Anderson who were pioneers in settling in Winchester, Illinois. David and Jane were married in Pittsburgh in 1815 and they lived there until about 1817 when they moved to Cincinnati Ohio. Then in about 1834 they moved to Winchester. I have been trying to find out who their parents were in Pennsylvania but so far no luck. David did serve with the Pittsburgh Blues militia in the War of 1812 and I have copies of his military record. I also have followed Lucy Devore Watt's father Uriah J. Devore and his migration from Pennsylvania to Kentucky to Missouri to Illinois. I live about 160 miles north of Winchester in Davenport Iowa. It's interesting that you live in Chester Co. PA as I know of a possible lead on David Watt's parentage in Chester Co. I would like very much to explore all these matters with you and maybe we could exchange some information with each other.
