Looking for information on John William Steuart b about 1825 in Scotland-immigrated to America before 1840 -was in PA (where not known)-married Mary Unknown in PA about 1840 -Mary was born in Pa around 1828-her parents were born-mother in Scotland -father in Germany. Moved to Scott County Illinois around 1857-8. Children of John William And Mary Unknown are:
1) Agnes(s) born in PA apprx 1840. She married Solomon Hoots
2) Mary born in PA apprx 1854. She married Thomas V Kersey
3) Catherine born in PA apprx 1856 or 57 married unknown
4) John William Jr born in Ill apprx 1858 He married Alice Hayes
5) Nancy born in Ill apprx 1861. She may have married a Thomas Barrass or Burrows
6) David born in Ill apprx 1863-4. He married Sarah Burrows
7) Benjamin born in Ill apprx 1866. Married Unknown.
I have names of some of the children of numbers 1,2,4,and 6 plus wifes or husbands families. Would like more info on any of these. Where is John W Steuart Sr. buried?? Is he the one buried at Winchester who died in Scott Co Poorhouse??? What is wifes maiden name and where in PA were they from??
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
