I am looking for information on Mary Steuart(Stuart) who married Thomas V Kersey in Ill. They were married Dec 12,1875 in Scott County. It was his second marriage as I believe he was married to Laura Ballard. He served in the Civil War(company C 28 IL INF) and also was at the State Home for Soldiers and Sailors for awhile.
Mary's parents were John William Steuart(sometimes spelled Stuart or Stewart) b. in Scotland-apprx 1823. Immigrated to PA and then to Scott CO Ill. Her mother was Mary or Margret Unknown Steuart. She was born around 1825 in PA.
Mary and Thomas Kersey had two daughters: Mattie E. born in Scott CO Ill apprx 1877 and Gussey M. born in Scott Co Ill apprx. 1879. I do not show Gussey ever being married and she died in 1919 in Adam Co Ill Riverside Township. Mary died also in Adam CO Ill. same township, 8-26-1927. I do not know when Thomas died.
