The maps I see show the line running up from Browning to Bader, then on past the railroad lake, now Camp Immanuel?, and past Astoria to Vermont. As a young boy, living east of Bader, I recall going over to Sugar Creek and my stepfather calling the area upstream "coffin corner", and there was a tall railroad trestle there in the Sugar Creek bottom. The trees were the biggest around, of all varieties. Anyway, am I remembering correctly (1955, or so), and was that the line used by the RR when the old tracks were removed that went through Bader and Astoria? Does anyone have a picture of that Trestle? Thanks, Paul Notify Administrator about this message?
