Thanks for the reply - but now you have me going.Do you know where I could find out any history on the area - I'm talking about 1907 - like what was the name of the coal company and any local history and what RR went through there then.My grandparents were married in Springfield in 1907 and on their marriage license my grandfathers address was Starnes, Illinois - then immediately after their marriage they went to Roslyn, Washington to work in the coal mines there.I have assumed they went by rail as the Northern Pacific had just been completed to those remote mountains and coal and lunber were in high demand.
