Looking for parents of Hiram Jordan or anyboby else that is doing research on this family.

1. HIRAM WALKER JORDAN. Born in 1802 in VA. HIRAM WALKER died in Pearl, Pike Co., IL bef 1895; he was 93. Buried in Carter Cem/Old Miller Cem. in Pearl, Pike Co., IL (unmarked). Occupation: Farmer.

1830-Age 20/30-Page 159-Nottingham, Washington Co., PA.
1840-Age 30/40 (37)-Page 150-Peters Twp, Washington Co., PA- with 1-M and 1-F, age 5/10, and 3-F, age 10/15.
There was a Elizabeth Jordan, age 50/60, living next door to Hiram. Could she be Hiram mother? Also living with Elizabeth were, 1-M, age 10/15, 1-M, age 15/20, 2-F, age 20/30.
In the1850, census page 225 450/140 . Elizabeth, age 66 MD. moved back to Nottingham, Washington Co., PA., were we first found Hiram in 1830. Elizabeth sons, John Jordan, age 26, and Abslem Jordan, age 20, were living with her.
Sometime after 1845, Hiram and Nancy moved to Pearl, Pike Co., IL. they lived there for the rest of their lives.

1860-Age 56 PA-712 41/41-Pike Co., IL
1870-Age 50 (60) PA-291b 88/88-Pike Co., IL
1880-Age 79 VA IRE OH- 587d 31/31-Pike Co., IL- Hiram is listed in the will of Thomas Jordan, of West Union, PA., who died May 1835.
Hiram owned land in Section 30 in Pike Co., IL.

ca 1830 when HIRAM WALKER was 28, he married NANCY ALICE HAROLD, in PA. Born in 1814 in PA. NANCY ALICE died in Pearl, Pike Co., IL on 28 Sep 1895; she was 81. Buried in Carter Cem/Old Miller Cem. in Pearl, Pike Co., IL (unmarked). Occupation: Housewife.

1830-Age 15/20-Page 159-Nottingham, Washington PA.
1840-Age 20/30-Page 150-Peters Twp, Washington Co., PA- with one boy and one girl, age 5/10, and 3 girls, age 10/15.
1855-Age 40/50-State Census-7 Range 2, Page 116, Line 19
1860-Age 50 PA-712 41/41-Pike Co., IL
1870-Age 48 (56) PA-291b 88/88-Pike Co., IL
1880-Age 66 PA PA PA- 587d 31/31-Pike Co., IL
Nancy's will recored in Vol. C, page 129, at Court House in Pike Co., IL
Report of the account of J. S. Crowder admistrator of the Estate of Nancy A. Jordan deceased. Filed 15 Nov 1897 and recored in Probate Record "E" page 137.
Nancy's will reads. " Beecreek, Pike Co., IL, Sept. 23rd 1895.
I NANCY A. JORDAN being of sound mind. Now in the presents of GOD do now in this my last will and testiment. Make the following disposition of my personal property.
All the money that I have in the First National Bank in Pittsfield, Pike Co., ILL. Which is made payable at my death to my Daughter ELIZABETH MORGAN and the forty dollars due me from SCOTT MOORE being in open account and all money, notes and other accounts that I have on hand.
Together with all my household and kitchen furniture and all other property that belongs to me.
First to be used in paying my funeral expences and Doctor bills and the remainder to be given to my daughter ELIZABETH MORGAN, for taking care of me during my last illness and I hereby appoint J. S. CROWDER as my excutor without requiring him to give bond, in witness I herein set my hand and seal the day above written. NANCY A. her mark X JORDAN.
Witnesses- GEORGE W. ROBERTS, and SARAH MORGAN.
The said deceased left surviving her- ELIZABETH MORGAN, WILLIAM JORDAN, ELLEN WHEELER, LUCINDA SCONCH, CYNTHIA BLYTHE, SAMUEL and DAVID JORDAN.

They had the following children:

       4       iii.       WILLIAM F. (1835-)
       5       iv.       LUCINDA (1840-)
              v.       HIRAM. Born in 1842 in PA.

1860-Age 16 PA-712 41/41-Pike Co., IL
Hiram was not listed as one of Nancy's (See Nancy's will) children still living when she died 1895. He was born in 1842, so his age would have been 53 when she died.

              vii.       CYNTHIA. Born in 1848 in Pearl, Pike Co., IL.

1850-Age 2 IL-112b 1265/1306-Pike Co., IL
1860-Age 12 PA-712 41/41-Pike Co., IL
1870-Age 22 IL-291b 88/88-Pike Co., IL- Listed as Catherine.
Cynthia's, mother's will, list Blythe as Cynthia last name.

CYNTHIA married Mr. BLYTHE.

1850 Census, Pike Co., IL, list a John Blythe, age 38 KY, his wife Maria, age 22 PA, and one child named Mary Sweeting, age 2 IL. (John was a Grocery keeper).

       7       viii.       DAVID J. (1850-1915)
              ix.       ELISA. Born in 1854 in Pearl, Pike Co., IL.

Elisa was not in the 1860 census.
1870-Age 16 IL-291b 88/88-Pike Co., IL
Elisa was not listed as one of Nancy's (See Nancy's will) children still living when she (Nancy) died in 1895! She was born in 1854.
