Thomas information
Posted by: Lyle Thomas (ID *****7513) Date: July 02, 2002 at 08:30:12

My Thomas family moved to Pike Co.ILL.about 1845.They camed from Franklin Co.Ohio.They also lived in Adams Co.ILL.Richfield township in the 1860's and 1870's.My 2nd Great Grand Uncle,Phylander Thomas(son of William Thomas and Louisa Cole) married Julia Etta Pulliam,18 Mar 1873 in Pike Co.ILL.So far I have no information on Julia Etta's parents or sibblings.I know Phylander is buried in the Kinderhook Cemetery.I have information that a Julia Etta Thomas died 28 April 1929 in Adams Co.ILL.Richfield township.I have Cemetery Books for the southern part of Adams county, but she is not listed so I don't know where she is buried.
My 2nd Great Grand Aunt, Elizabeth Thomas married Pulaski W.Bowman on 21 July 1858 in Adams Co.ILL.They were liveing next door to her parents,William and Lousia in Richfield township in the 1860 census. In the 1870 census for Richfield township Elizabeth was liveing with her parents. No Pulaski Bowman.I found out that Pulaski was in the same company in the Civil War (Third MO.CAV.CO.K,Union) with my 2nd Great Grand Uncle,John Thomas and my 2nd Great Grand Father, William Dunnigan Thomas.I sent off for Pulaski Bowman's Civil War Pension file hopeing to get a lead on Elizabeth and her parents after 1870.His file was pretty interesting. He was born in Franklin Co.Ohio.He deserted in the Civil War but came back to his company and was arrested, went to trial and was reinstated back into his unit. His file also states that he married a Sarah E.McKeean(she the one that filed for his pension) on 6 Sep.1866 in Missouri.Pulaski Bowman died in Boone Co.MO.on 28 Dec.1872.
