Levi Kinman and Mary Jane Grimes - Pike Co., IL
Posted by: Leroy Gailey Date: November 08, 2001 at 12:08:10

Levi Kinman and Mary Jane Grimes were married July 30, 1843 in Pike Co., IL by Wm. Gale, E.L.D.C.C. Lic 909. Her father James Grimes is shown as given permission for the marriage. Seeking any possible clue as to Levi Kinman parents. Four brothers came to Pike Co, IL in 1830's and one Uncle Jeremiah came to Schuyler Co about same time. The brothers are:

Sims (Symms), William and Hiram who all were in the Black Hawk Wars 1831-1932 and Levi Kinman, Minister of Gospel.

I did find in the 1840 census that Sims had a male that would fit the age range of Levi living with him and one I could not place a name. Of course it could be anyone......... The license did not show anything other than her father, so if anyone has any information, or clue on where to look next, I would appreciate any and all help.
Thanks, Leroy Gailey Paint Rock, Texas
