Garret Van Dusen- Pike County 1821

Any Pike County Historians have information re: Garret Van Dusen? According to Jess Thompson's HISTORY OF PIKE COUNTY Garret was appointed commissioner in 1822, started a ferry in 1821, was a justice of the peace, and a famous early miller. He also calls him an eccentric knickerbocker Dutchman who was one of the earliest settlers east of Pittsfield. I'm curious who Garret's parents were and how he fits into the rest of the Van Dusen clan.
