Lisa, Hi Lisa this is Connie Cave in Elgin, IL. We have corresponded about our Haffner line. I wanted to mention some Pike Co. resources as I have done some research in Pike county concerning my Carnes, Dunham, and Spicer families from there. If you need the services of a local historian, the best is Mr. Kermit Klinefelter. He would be in the telephone book. Pittsfield has a local and genealogical section in their public library. There is also the Pittsfield East School which has been restored. This is the location for the Pike County Historical Society. The Postal address for Pike County Historical Society, the last I knew was P.O. Box 44, Pittsfield, Illinois 62363 A Mrs. Virginia Hart used to do genealogical fee research in this area. The last I knew she was located at the Office and Museum at 305 West Quincy St., Box 92 Pleasant Hill, IL 62366 The Pike County Chamber of Commerce, address when last used was P.O. Box 283, Pittsfield, Illinois 62363 Pike County has some special July events. Pike Co. Pig Days held in Pittsfield used to be on the Friday and Saturday after July 4. The Pike County fair in Pleasant Hill is held the third Monday-Saturday in July. The Western Illinois Fair in Griggsville was held the third Wednesday-Sunday in June. You should check with the Chamber to see if these dates are still current. If you have non interested family members in tow, it is nice if they have special events to attend while you sleuth. Good luck in your search. Hope this helps.
