I understand that Pike Co. Ill was once part of Madison Co. Ill.
Am seeking ifo on family from area of what used to be Madison Co. and is now Madison and Pike. counties of Ill.
The name is LeVart, Levert, Leverett, Leveritt, Lavit. etc. or any phonically sounding name that might be mistakenly pronounced as Lev--ert.
Trying to find g-grandparents, who were in this area from 1870 to the mid-70's.
Their first and second children were born here.
With the birth of their fourth child, David L. their mother did evidently die of complications following his birth. And before, during or afterward the fathere did die or abandon his children, leaving them wards of the county.
In the 1880 Wayne Co. Mo. census we find:
Nancy Elizabeth, b. Nov. 12, 1871 or 72
living in the home of Franklin Marcus Ward
William T. b. July 4, 1873 or 74
Was living with the Cooper's.
Thomas Warren, my grandfather b. 1875 month we do not know nor do we know where he was living.
David L. born August of 1878. in Wayne Co Mo. (we think). We do not know where he was living.
And our reasoning of Davd L. being born in Wayne Co. Mo. is that in the 1880 census the two older children had been placed into Wayne Co. homes.
Should you have any info on any surname with the phonic sound similar to these listed will apppreciate any info.
