Calling all descendants of Benjamin & Cassandra Brown Crain of Four Mile Prairie, Perry Co. Illinois
Benjamin Crain b. 22 June 1800 d. 13 October 1888, and his wife Cassandra Brown b. 13 January, 1813 d. 1 January 1878, are buried in Greenbriar Cemetery, in Perry County, Illinois. This cemetery is basically an abandoned cemetery. Some people make efforts to keep some of the gravesites cleared, but without help this cemetery will soon be lost to everyone.
Benjamin & Cassandra Crain have a beautiful marble stone that once stood more than 5 ft tall. The base has crumbled under this stone and the stone has toppled to the ground. We are looking for anyone willing to help in any way to restore this stone. We either need the manpower to do it ourselves, or contributions to have the stone reset. If you would like more information, or would like to help, contact either Randy Crain rscrain@comcast.net or Peggy Crain Luthy at bilpeg@onecliq.net.

So many of our ancestors graves have been destroyed by time and coal mining, lets work together to preserve this one!
