Hello Monroe County researchers, I'm looking for help locating a Hugh Ralston in Harrison twp, Monre co Ill. Census of 1830 Harrison, Monroe co. Ill list Hugh Ralston 1 male 40-50 (b. between 1790 & 1780) & female 30 to 40 yrs old. Looking for land records & any death or cemetery records or Any early Ralston marriages in the county? I have info saying Hugh Ralston was a oarsman on a flatboat trip down the Ohio River ca. 1807 to Cairo, Ill from south of Pittsburgh PA area, Brooke co VA near Steubenville, OH area. I found Huge Ralston on the Tax list of 1816 in Monroe Co Ill, & mention in County history book, in Harrison twp in 1816 on the line for township ran between Hugh Ralston & Isaih Levens. WHo was Isaih LEVENS? Also in county history found mention "on the "Sand Hill" as it is caled near this willow ford bridge, Hugh Ralston lived in 1825." 1820 census in Monroe co Ill - Hugh Ralston between 26- 45 yrs wife or female 16-26 & a boy & girl both under 10 yrs old. 1830 Hugh 1 male 40-50 & female 30-40, no children listed, did they die between 1820 & 1830? Where did Hugh Ralston & Wife (? no name yet) go? Seems they may have owned land there ? Are there land records for this time period in Monroe? is there anyone who will be willing to check for land records in the county on him? I Would be happy to pay for gas & time for checking for records at the courthouse for Hugh Ralston. Thanks so much for your time & any clues on him & family there in the county. Happy trails on all your researching too. Kim Ralston Dresser Notify Administrator about this message?
