Interesting question. Information I already had would be useful from a different source, but I am most interested in when/where he died. I do indeed have the 1880 and 1900 census info, which gives me his parents names and a guess at their births (including his), also from the city directories he was living in Charleston from 1916 to 1932. So he died after 1932 I guess (in Charleston?). I would like to know when/where his parents died and their actual birth dates (as well as Josephs exact birth date). His wife appears to have died 25 Oct 1948 in Charleston, buried there too?
Finally, there is a Lena of the right age (54) living with a Joseph Tahan (age 59) in the 1930 Census. They live with his brother Hugh Tehan. 903 Madison Street Charleston, Coles Co. IL. It is my guess these are the same family.
