Looking for information pertaining to Bettie Mae Watson and Roy Guthrie. Roy was born 1911 and just passed away last week, Feb 2009. I am trying to research the family and can't seem to find any info on them. Roy was born in Arkansas, lived in Wynne, died in Rochelle, Illinois. The following is his obituary from the Jonesboro Sun newspaper in Arkansas
Roy GUTHRIE
ROCHELLE, Ill. — Roy GUTHRIE, 98, of Rochelle, formerly of Vanndale, died Thursday, Feb. 26, at Franklin Grove Nursing Center in Illinois.
He was born Feb. 11, 1911, at Cherry Valley, the son of Lee and Jayne Lee Wilson GUTHRIE.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Mae Watson GUTHRIE; one brother; two sisters; and one granddaughter.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Donald Moore, Terry Moore and Machelle Terry.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Vanndale Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, (870) 238-9400, is in charge of arrangements.
