Mann, Elgin, IL by Dick Tague of 45710 Dick, you hit a home run. elgin is in kane county. john f. maun is definitely my john p. mann. they spelled it john f. maun in the 1880 census but hes my guy. thank you very much. a misspelling like that can throw your research into a tailspin unless you have the skills that you have to look outside of the box.
