You stated in you May 9, 2008 posting on GenForum that you were going to IL Regional Archives on May 15, 2008. If you have time, could you check on: Mariah Farrington (b. 1811) living in Woodford Co around 1855 - 1857. It has been reported that one of her daughters was born in that county in 1857. It is also suspected that she was still in the county in 1862 and some how connected to a John Morris born in 1862. The name of Webster could also be connected but not definately. I know that Mariah was married to a Wm Farrinton(b.1818) around 1855 but cant find anything on him other than he died in 1877 in Kankakee Co, Otto Township. He and Mariah, his wife, purchased the property in Otto Twp in 1869 according to the land title. My question is why or how or when did they get to Woodford Co? Mariah was Mariah Taylor Dewitt - Dewitt being her first husband Banghart Dewitt whom she married in Dearborn Co, IN in 1834 and according to her Obit, he died in 1853. No knownledge of where he was burried. They had 9 children but only 5 have been accounted for. Wm and Mariah Farrington had 4 children but only 2 accounted for - Angelina being the oldest born in 1857 in Woodford Co., IL. and Harriett Caroline (Carrie) born in 1861 in IL. Burial of Mariah and William Farrington is in Evergreen Cemetary in Iroquois Co, Chebanse, IL. Your help is greatly appreciated!! Also please let me know where this place you are going to is located as if I ever get to that region of IL I can stop in and do further research. With gas prices as they are, we all are going to have to work with each other on these searches. Sincerely, Dena Hissong Chebanse, IL elh754@prodigy.net Notify Administrator about this message?
