Hi,
I'm researching information on my 4 times great grandfather Jean Baptiste LaLonde and can't seem to connect him to any known families.
Jean Babtiste LaLonde was born in Illinois or Louisiana est. between or around 1760-1790. He died 02/08/1821 in New Mexico. His parents were (allegedly) a Jean Baptiste LaLonde and Margarita Alameda or Lestrada- both from Louisiana (but they could also have been from Canada). Juan Baptiste had 2 sons and 5 daughters (between 3 wives) and all the LaLondes of New Mexico are descended from him. His daughter (with Maria Polonia Lucero) was Maria Dolores LaLonde (my 3 times Great Grandmother. Does anyone have any information regarding the origins of his family? I believe their ancestry is Canadian via France. See also:

This is the same man who married Maria Polonioa Lucero and fathered Maria Dolores LaLande...
