I have been researching my husbands family last name Thompson...Sonme of the Thompsons names was changed to Legge My husband being the son of a Raymond Legge......Marguarite Thompson (was Raymond Legges Aunt) who came here from Ireland early 1900,s to Newport Rhode Island with her Twin sister Isabel (Isabel married a Stevens)....Marguarite married a Gurney first name unknown, She had a son Gordon T Gurney....Gordon T Gurney was married twice....He had two children Gay Gurney That I know and a son Gordon Tommy Gurney Jr....I believe mother was a Dorothy (Dottie) Gurney.... Gordon Gurney was killed in a car accident in the 1950,s. At the time he was living in Champaign Illinois ...About two weeks ago while at my mother in laws house (She being age 92)I was going thru a box of old photos and came upon a photo of Gordon Gurneys son G Tommy Gurney he looks to be perhaps at the age of 6 or 7 in this photo..... I would love to be in contact with this family to see if they could fill in the Gurney gaps I need for the family tree...Like who was Gordon Gurneys Sr,s father and when did he pass away???.....Other names tied to this family are the Peckhams...Natalie Stevens married a Edward Peckham and lived in Middletown RI...Her sister Margurite Thompson Gurney known also to live in Newport RI....
On the back of the picture it has the following
Mrs Gordon T Gurney
1604 Henry Street
Champain Illinois
and the front is signed by Dottie Gurney No Date on Photo but has to be late 1980,s very early 1960,s
