Kathleen, Thank you for responding to my posting. I am sorry it was confusing but very happy you figured out part of it. :)). I have just completed researching the earlier newspapers and census' (1860-1930) for the Nolan's in the Middlesex, County. All the Nolan's of this area are related in one way or another...still trying to figure them out how as it is a very large extended family. Let me try to clarify my last posting for the different families of researched Nolan's... I did not find any newspaper articles for the marriages of #1-James T. & Annie A. or #3-James A. & Anna in Middlesex, Co. All four were born in Ireland, townland and County unknown. Since most of the marriages of the remaining families were listed in the old newspaper of Middlesex Co; I am assuming and hoping to find their marriage's in IL. Yes your right, I need to pull the death certificates. With just finishing the basic research, I am now at the point where I must dig into the RC Church and town records of Middlesex County, CT. I am procrastinating....Sr. Ann (at the St John's Ch-Middletown,CT) is not going to be a happy camper when I give her 3 typed pages of names and dates to look up :((. Much respect for the nuns..due to the fact that I still remember the ruler across the knuckles once or twice!!! LOL. The only way I will be saved is when I tell her my gr. aunt took her vows to be a nun at that very Church. I am hoping to start this summer. I have over 100 names in Middlesex Co. EEK! #2-John Nolan, parents unknown (born-1870-IL) was found in the 1900 Bridgeport, CT Census. He was listed with siblings Michael and Annie (M & A both born in CT). They were located in a different county in CT, but are the only other Nolan's in the State of CT that were born in IL. I will check their death certificates for parents names if I can find a death location for them (on the agenda). They lived with "Hickey" aunts and uncles (family name of mother???). It's a hunch and not a very good one but if I am researching IL records....I might as well add one more name. #4- Peter Nolan (b-1874-IL) is different from Peter Nolan (b-1986-IL and son of James T and Annie A). Peter is a common name in my Nolan family. Peter (1874) was found in the 1920 Portland, Middlesex Co; Ct Census. He is married with one child. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for the WWI record information of Peter (1893) with his birth listed as Streator, Il (LaSalle Co). With out that info, I am sure I would never have a prayer finding any family member. There are hundreds of Nolan's in the IL Census'. I never remember to check out military records of my many extended family....this will teach me not to forget again! And THANKS for the list of Nolan marriages in LaSalle. I will definitely start researching them where I can in the census, old newspapers (News Bank) and on line. Slan and Grateful, Jilly Notify Administrator about this message?
